Functionment:

- Metropolitan structure:

6 persons, among which the founders, compose the board in Vendée
and share the tasks.

Hervé Lafoux (physician/researcher at CEA Saclay, 36 y.o, herve@pommecannelle.org), is responsible for the shelters.

Annick Lafoux (retired, lafoux@pommecannelle.org) is reponsible for logistic : collecting some clothes ; meeting with occasional conveyers (trekkers going to Nepal) ; relationship with the volunteers who wish to take part in the animation of our shelters ; accounts.

All the people participating to this structure are volunteers. There is no salary, nor any indemnity for the air flight tickets, the mail and other expenses. The resources of APC France are entirely dedicated to our missions on site.

- Nepalese structure:

We pay great attention to the effective participation of local inhabitants. APC employs, whether part-time or full-time, around twenty persons with Nepalese nationality: managers of the shelters, educators, social-cultural animators, cookers, street educators… Only these collaborators, without which nothing could have been done, are remunerated and indemnified following local standards.

APC Nepal is an NGO officially recognized by Nepalese government, registered under the Name « Sarifa Nepal ».

Resources:


Individual donators and sponsors have been, along with the founders, the main financial support, remaining stable since the very first days. They still provide about one half of our resources.

Since may 2003, APC is the partner in Nepal of «Groupe Développement»,
an NGO specialized in supporting projects in favor of the street children from different Asian countries. Thanks to this partnership, APC has been able to create during the last years, housing and orientation structures, which were missing to its action.

Our presence in the long term is conditioned by the expansion of the number of sponsors, who shall, in the end, replace our institutional supports, which before all dedicate to the launching of new projects.

French tax policy has become in 2005 yet more favorable and 75% of the donated amount can be deducted from tax return. It should allow us finding those stable resources, with the particulars, as well as with the firms which can use their support as a tool for intern communication



Network/Cooperation:



From Kathmandu to Lima, from Calcutta to Cotonou, the same causes produce the same effects by the populations exposed to danger, especially the children. Identical diagnosis induces very close solution.
APC develops strong relationships with other organizations that welcome and take care of the most exposed population, namely the street children. You can find in the annex some links to several of these organizations.
